That's a good question but I think its pretty complicated. You can get a absentee ballot but I think it depends of the state.

If you committed a felony you permanently lose your right to vote unless you jump through a ton of hoops to get it back.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. And if you committed a felony, they never let you vote again "unless your civil rights have been restored."

We don't want them voting for less police spending. But a big problem is when any employer can see any crime even if it unrelated to the job, the ex cons have no where to go to make a living except back to crime. The jail sentence is not the worse part. It is not being able to get a job after you are out that is worse.

Considering that they open and check all your mail, and have the right to trash it if it has bad stuff in it, I doubt absentee ballots would count.

You could go register as mickey mouse and vote. Happens every election, though usually you got to be a pawn for the ballot box stuffers. Just find the stuffers who want your candidate to win, and tell them you will run a mission for them.

Yeah, for local elections, it depends on locality. Different laws different places. I bet you could lie and say you don't have a felony, and they'd never check. But if they did, you could get in trouble.

I was watching tv program the other day I think it was called 'America's toughest jails' and I noticed that there was this one jail that banned the inmates from looking at p**rn - very harsh :hump:
