Just want to put my little grain of salt here about my situation. I have started finasteride 2 years ago with some fincar and then switch to proscar. I was not really sure of the success since i didnt see any major regrowth and was still loosing a fair amount of hair in the shower. During those 2 years i have seen several shed period. I allways use a towel on the shower drain to see how much hair i am loosing. Without it, you cannot know if you are shedding since all the hair are escaping with the water when you shower. I use to comb my hair from the back to the front just before i dry them with a hair dryer and again i use to see several hair falling there into the sink.
I must say that since at least a month... i just cannot see any hair falling into the sink when i comb, and at the most i see 2 or 3 hair into the shower.... Very happy.
So it can take over 2 years to work.
I was using 0.625 approx then i have increase the dose to 1mg approx. Maybe its because i have increase the dose that i have seen results later. I have decided to decrease the dose to 0.75 approx each day and see if i see an increase in the shedding. Been on 0.625 for approx 18 month. The rest was on the 1mg dose. The reason for me to decrease the dose was to counter the sides.... i do have with 1mg dose a low libido side effect.
Using Minoxidil foam too on my hairline and crown.
Was having a christmas dinner at my parents place and my sister made my day. See said to me she noticed that my hair was looking more dense and full.
My wife said the same thing when i was brushing my teeth in front of the mirror the other day. She said that she cannot see the crown and top anymore....
Dont give up guys.

Thanks Grabber,

How old are you?

And congratulations on your late response. This is one of those examples where patience really does pay off.

Im 42 years old. I would like to know what is the reason for this success. It could be from the Rogaine Foam or the increase in dosage of proscar.
Anyway, very happy with the success so far.

Have a nice day.

it could be that the rogaine foam increased the hair volume but it wouldn't do anything for the shedding. in fact, it would probably give him more shedding initially. but glad to hear the success!

I have added lots of different things to my diet lately.... Omega 3, White tea or Green tea (5 to 6 cups a day), Zink supplement with Lysine. L-Arginine before my Gym workout.

I will keep this regime.
