Using Face Wash Before Shampooing Your Hair?

The shiny scalp contains not only sebum, but also dead skin. Since some of the face wash also remove dead skin on your face, I was thinking maybe using face wash to clean the scalp before shampooing would remove dead skin and sebum on the scalp? But I'm afraid it would damage the hair that's already on the scalp. Anyone heard someone doing it or tried doing it yourself?

I don't think you should clean your scalp with face wash. I would think it will dry out your hair and remove all the natural oils from it. It will make your hair look very dry and lifeless. For a person with male pattern baldness, the best product to wash your hair with is Nizoral shampoo.

Nizoral is the reigning king of drying out your hair. It is advisable to use conditioner or leave in conditioner afterwards, i use the latter. Shampooing before using nizoral is also important as it cleans the scalp and helps nizoral to foam up.

It kinda depends on the face wash though, the scrubby ones could maybe possibly scratch the hairs and do damage.

edit: nope, there are even scrub shampoos for the purpose of cleaning the scalp even better. I would not worry about it lol.
