Use Of Minoxidil Products With Cats

hi all

I am 55 and have started to lose hair very fast in the last two or three months. I am thinking of using Foligain, but am concerned about my girlfriend's cat.

If I was living with her, I wouldn't consider using it. Would just have to accept going bald and shaving my head rather than risk any minoxidil getting on pillows.

The thing is, though, I don't live with her, but spend a night or two every other weekend there. I am considering using the product when I am at my house, say, Monday to Thursday, and have a bath and wash hair thoroughly with shampoo on Thursday night before going there on Friday. Then I wouldn't use the product again till Monday morning.

I am concerned, though, that some residual product may remain on my hair and be transferred to the pillow at my girlfiend's house.

Need to be absolutely sure this is safe, though, before I consider it. She'd dump me rather than be worrying about the cat

Any views?

I think it won't be effective if you Don't use it the Week end but who knows. And if you wash your hair on thursday night it means you have to use minoxidil early otherwise you ll wash it away.

Saying this you could just use the foam which dries in 2 min and doesnt transfer to pillow.

Guess it could be worth a try. I wouldn't feel comfortable with the foam either really - would want something that I am 100% sure is going to wash off in the bath.

I think you should talk to a vet about it, he knows better...
