At the end of my other post about laswer comb and oral finasteride 1mg/day, I mentioned I started topical finasteride after no success on 9 months of laser and oral finasteride.
Anway, I've been on topical finasteride mixed with 1 ml 70% alc + 2-3 ml of spironolactone cream from this site for 2 weeks.
In terms of hair loss count which I conduct every couple day by washing my hair using a bucket of water so all of my hair counts are contained - no increase/ or decrease in shedding. Still stays the same of 160 +- 15 hairs / day.
But one thing DO notice is that after I use my spirro cream with 1mg finasteride dissolved within, I will feel the tingling sensation on my scalp when shampooing with Revita Shampoo. I only had this tingling sensation from Revita when I shaved my head bald last year. By being able to rub and wash my scalp so easilly I guess I dissolved something on my scalp that allowed the Revita to penetrate my scalp when I was shaved bald. This tingling sensation went away eversince I grew back my hair to normal length = 3-4 inches.
I guess after my hair grew back longer It gets harder to scrub my scalp like when I was shaved bald. However, I am still able to get this tingling sensation IF I use a japanese shampoo prewash. But I tend not to use this japanese shampoo since I read so many harsh chemicals in it.
So the interesting thing is, for the days that I used spironolactone + 1 mg finasteride on my scalp, I am able to feel the tingling sensation from Revita shampoo again. This is very amazing to me. I didn't believed in the beginning but after switching pure spironolactone vs spironolactone vs 1mg finasteride a couple times, I CLEARLY notice the difference, that after using spironolactone + 1mg finasteride I'll feel the tingling sensation from Revita shampoo. I tried testing back and forth for 3 times to confirm this.
My first thought was that adding 1mg finasteride might helped to dissolve the sebum on my scalp, but this proofed wrong when I touch my scalp because I'll still get this oily print on my finger tips that touched. So I really don't know whats happening. I remember reading somewhere that some ppl are speculating that eventhou finasteride won't treat whatever is on the scalp which is dht type 1 or something, it does still reduce it by a small fraction if enough concentration of finasteride is applied to it. I don't know where this article is anymore. But anyway, this is what I've expereinced from topical spironolactone + 1mg finasteride = confirmed tingling sensation from Revita shampoo.
Besides that, no report on increased / decreased shed from my controlled* shampoo with bucket water every couple days. I'll report more in the future.
I'm also getting a PRP done next wed by Dr Feller in NY. I'll post some info afterward too since this board helped me somewhat.
