I recently had an online consultation with Dr. Lee. My question was with regards to minoxidil one time a day. He told me that minoxidil is dose dependent and that I will need at least 2 applications to achieve optimal results. Due to my sporatic schedule and job I still feel it will be hard to consistently have a morning application. Dr. Lee mentioned that it is like a bell curve and some patients have success with once a day minoxidil. My conserns are that using once a day may cause more harm than good. I was also wondering if I started once a day and eventually worked out a way to use twice a day if this might create shedding or tolerance problems. Any feedback is appreciatated. Also, I have already been using propecia for several years.

Once a day works for me. Doubtful that one application a day will make anything worse if you are consistent.

If you're a responder to minoxidil, once a day is certainly better than nonce a day. People do get results from using once per day. I've even heard guys have success with 5 x per week. No way could it do more harm than good, unless you quit, then you'll shed minoxidil hairs. Once per day will also reduce itch/flake if minoxidil causes it.

When I started minoxidil, I would apply 2 doses within 4-6 hours of eachother due to me schedule. I asked Lee if this was okay and he said it was fine and shouldn't effect results. The ideal is 12 hours between doses, but after 4hrs minoxidil is fully absorbed.
