I have been ordering generic duasteride from them and want to know if they are a legitimate company. I have asked this question before about 6 months ago with a few other posters but I could use some re assurance. I was told that they are indeed a legit company, and one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in India. I was a bit apprehensive to order from them but some of you on here re assured me that they are fine so I did.

My main concern/suspicion is that on the box where they mail me the pills it doesn’t have a return address and it says it's from Figi. I really hope this is not some vitamin c that i have been taking the last 6 months.

I am 19 now and I don’t think a MD would prescribe me duasteride even if I have been on propecia for over a year. They have stupid bureaucratic regulation and I don’t think they would give it to me until I am older which is completely stupid.

Also the website had a few spelling and grammatical errors and do not require a prescription. Going against my instincts I followed the advice of people on here. Are they a legitimate company? What should I do? Can anyone offer me any advice? Thanks I really would appreciate some feedback.

Also this may be personal but I dont masturbate normally. I used to before I had hairloss and I had huge loads and my sex drive was pretty big. When I started taking propecia I noticed that my sex drive wasnt as high and my loads werent as big, and my load was more watery. I had to blow my load the other day and nothing has changed. I still have the same effects from when I was on propecia and nothing has changed. This is a good sign which could indicate that the dutasteride is the same stuff. BUt overall no sex side effects; I know you guys always ask.

Thanks again all,

Young Guy

It's not stupid. They won't prescribe dutasteride to you for good reason.

1) You are young and your body may still be developing. Dutasteride is a powerful antiandrogen. It's unwise to be altering your body's hormonal chemistry in the formative stages.

2) Dutasteride is not commonly prescribed for male pattern baldness because it is not approved by the FDA for said indication. There may be good reason for this, there might not. We don't know yet.

You may read some posters advocating its use anecdotally...but the truth is, no one really knows its long-term effects when used by young men. It may very well be innocuous to most...but on the chance it's not, it sure would suck to look back on your self-prescribed decision, remembering those boxes from Fiji.

My advice - go see your doctor and if/when he/she and you feel it's advised, get a legitimate prescription for finasteride.

Hey, thanks for your response. I have a prescription for regular finastride but not duasteride. I was on propecia for a while and it didn't do anything. What about united pharmacies? Should I continue to order from there? Also could I get a prescription for duasteride through a real doctor? I heard they wont prescribe it to people for a long time give that it's not proven and basically everything what you said.

Thanks,

YG

I think United Pharmacies are good. I order from them as do many others...i would worry. Generic drugs made by Cipla and Dr. Reddys are very reliable.

I think you may be a little confused, the manufacturers of the generic dutasteride are based in India, but United Pharmacies are indeed based in Fiji so that is all OK.

Regarding the safety of dutasteride, regardless of what others have said in this thread there is good evidence that 5AR inhibitors as a class of drug are indeed safe even for a 19 year old. dutasteride in particular hasn't been around that long but we have no reason to think it is less safe than finasteride.

Nor do we have reason to think that it is. Your base for analysis is a bunch of desperate young guys, most if not all of whom are not MDs, biomedical engineers, nor pharmacists, who ordered and are taking dutasteride sourced through the internet without an MD's supervision. You likely have some studies that you've analyzed from a layman's perspective. That's hardly grounds for giving encouraging words for a hormone-altering pharmaceutical to a 19 year-old.

I swear....I'd like to slap a bunch of you guys around for doing crazy sh*t like this.

Dutasteride has been thoroughly safety tested both by the FDA and in several subsequent studies, I repeat there is no reason to suspect it is not safe. Nor is there any reason to suspect it would be less safe taken by a 19 year old than a 70 year old. In fact a younger persons body is more capable of breaking down and eliminating drugs.

No one here is stupid Hairwegoagain, everyone is fully aware of the risks of taking medications etc. but I think we'd all prefer to base our decisions on the scientific evidence rather unfounded scare statements like you are making. Of course, if you do have any evidence dutasteride is unsafe please share it.
