I had some bros over for a couple beers and some burgers, and that show the Apprentice came on. Well, it started a whole topic about hairloss due to having a laugh over Trump's wild and spiffy combover/under, and some of em made comments about toupees, and then they went into people who use Rogaine and Propecia. I was in immediate tension, and held my breath waiting for any comments about each others hairlines etc.., but thankfully nobody said anything about my thinning hair, and man did I feel like slipping outta the room quick. This made me feel weird, especially knowing I was on two of the treatments they were making fun of people using. I ended up unscathed, but found out first hand what my buddies think of the people using treatments. Although, one close friend starting to talk about his hairline and temples receding. I wanted to tell him the products he is dismissing are worthwhile. Oh well, good luck to them, they may be tripping out over hairloss in a couple years.

Just knowing about the products make them somewaht guilty of at least taking notice. Making fun of the products shows there lack of knowledge or understanding about the treatments. They are probably scared, therefore dismiss the treatments and make fun of guys that use them.

He he...I remember 2 years ago my friends were making cruel jokes about a balding guy at a party. About that time I was "in denial" over my own hairloss, I had just noticed that something funny was going on with my hair so... I didn´t laugh that much.... to say the least.

Nowadays when my friends talk about hairloss there are no jokes involved..and they have fear in their eyes....
.
"I´ve heard of a pill thats supposed to stop hairloss" or "I wonder if that Rogaine stuff really works" "Maybe I will start using treatments IF my hair get worse" and I just sit there quiet thinking..."yes it works....and yes you WILL start use treatments..and surprise surprise..your hair will get worse if you dont"

I guess I have to step forward soon and let them know that I use treatments, but its hard. Because they will probably tease me..... A LOT. And also they have the same tools to educate themself as I had...but I guess I have to tell them....

PS I was probably making jokes about baldies before I started to go bald myself so I´m not a saint either...Anyway I am paying for those jokes now..

I think we can all relate to those times when hairloss becomes a discussion and you wish you could just slip away unnoticed. I used to not discuss my hairloss at all and just avoided any conversations about it at all costs. If one of my friends got a haircut and someone started talking about it, i would just leave the area. Until one day, I was taking my vitamins including my 1/4 proscar, and one of my friends asked me, "what is that pill for?" I told him it was just a vitamin and tried to change the subject. He kept asking about it and then he just blurted out: "is it propecia?" I said yea it is and he asked me if it worked and I said "i hope so...!" and that was it. He was a good friend and didnt really make fun of me, but it might come back to haunt me sometime....

But to be honest, I dont really care. After 9 months of the Big 3, I can tell my hair is 100% better then it was before and Im not really ashamed of my program and if someone asks, ill tell them the truth.
