It's SHOCKING how little most dermatologists know about f*cking MALE PATTERN BALDNESS!!! like, seriously?!?! One of the most common physical and mental afflictions for men in that field and they don't know anything.

I tried arguing... I said then how do people get side effects and he said most don't.... I was amazed by his ignorance.

If you think dermatologists are bad then try a trichologist. I saw one who recommended saw palmetto as a 'natural' alternative to finasteride. When i said that surely it is supposed to work by blocking DHT also she just looked confused and said she wasn't sure. 30 years treating hair loss and the stupid woman didn't know how what she was recommending was supposed to work.

You dermatologist is right if he or she tells that there are side effect but most do not get them. However, it is quite impressive that she or he just thought that it blocks 5 AR only in the head. That ignorance is quite impressive.

Did you finally get on finasteride mate? And/or get a 2% Nizoral script?

Pharmacology is a hell of a class. Put yourself in the doctor's shoes, having to memorize thousands of drugs and their interactions...If it isn't of personal interest/use to the doctor, it's hard recalling info like that off the top of their heads.

It's a drug that blocks it EVERYWHERE..... That's a HUGE miss recall in information! That's misinforming patients

Waiting on the finasteride and I yes I got the 2% nizoral. I plan to use that 3 times a week and regenpure dr 4 times a week

You're average dermatologist is pretty clueless about hair loss. You're better off getting advice from pretty much ANY veteran member on the hair loss forums.

Good! I wouldn't use keto that much during the week, you'll fry your hair man. Just do 2% Nizoral twice a week and Regenepure once a week, that's what I do. Use whatever shampoo you want on your "off" days.

Pavi,

Liquid finasteride does work! And, since you live in Ohio, you could order it from MWC (Med Well Center), if
that's what you choose to do. It will reduce more DHT (slightly more), and you can control the dosage easier.

Also, you can customize the dosage (it would be mixed with Minoxidil).

But you are very successful, so not sure if it's necessary.

Unfortunately, for white males (myself included), regrowing temple hair is extremely difficult.

How expensive is it? And I would just get finasteride and use it between minoxidil applications. Does it go systemic? If so, why would you take that over the pill?

How long have u been using 2% again? And that sounds like a better plan than mine

I have been using the 2% about 2 times a week for about a month now. So far so good.

Mine is a little over a hundred, but yours won't cost as much.

Keep in mind mine includes thirty percent Minoxidil, .1 ml = Propecia oral of Finasteride, .1 ml hydrocortisone (because
with really high Min dosages, it can actually damage your scalp, for some people, and .25mg Progesterone (not dangerous,
in fact spironolactone is more of an anti androgen then Progesterone, but it's overkill for your situation.

So, yours will probably be a quarter or a half of that, if that.[

How much goes systemic?

Probably a little more than Propecia. But you can customize the dosage (less than or equal to .1ml). Also, you don't have
to take all of it.

Do I take more.. .maybe. But my Norwood is a much higher number.

If it goes more systemic then oral, why take it?

LMAO dude, I had an identical experience although I think the women I went too was a straight out conlady, she knew exactly what she was doing. She told me with a straight face that rogaine and finasteride straight up don't work and that they are sham products. Did she really think I was stupid enough not to have done extensive research about hairloss prior to my visit? Makes me really angry tbh, how ****ing dare she. She tried to sell me some natural dht inhibitor remedies and charge me thousands, lmao.

Most GPs, doctors and dermatologists have no interest in male pattern baldness and as such have done, and will do little to no research on the subject. Got to go see a hair loss specialist, ideally a hair transplant clinic.

There is reason for this..

Hairloss is not so profitable to all dermatologist...
This doca can earn handsome money in various treatments including laser..
So they don't need to concentrate on this hairloss treatment..
Besides while doing hairloss treatment.patient need Dr for only few visits..

Then patient itself becomes doctor :D
