I recently purchased a 60ml bottle of Nizoral (ketoconazole 20mg/g) in Gordon's chemist for about £5.75. However, earlier I spotted a 100ml bottle of something called Nizorelle in Boots for only £4.99.

The ingredients of Nizorelle stated that it contained ketoconazole but unfortunately not a percentage. Does anyone know if the cheaper shampoo in Boots also contains 2% ketoconazole?

I was wondering if the "feminine" ending '...elle' indicates that Nizorelle is a shampoo for women as opposed to men.

Gordon's Nizoral is made by Janssen-Cilag whereas Boot's Nizorelle is made by O'Neil.

Nizorelle = 1% formulation
Nizoral = 2% formulation

Best go for the Nizoral if you can.

Looks like you were onto something with the feminine sounding name. Nizorelle with just 1% is obviously the wussy, girly version!
