Turning really hairy, from the waist up!

minoxidil/R-A mix (see link for detail) has thickened and darkened up the scalp, but has made everything else from the waist up go dark and long.

Man this sucks, I had a nearly hairless body once. Now I look like Austin Power's chest.

OK - what do I do here. If I stop, the scalp goes bald, but do I lose the back and shoulder growth too?

Looks like you're getting the original surprise side effects from back when minoxidil was a blood pressure medication. Just enjoy the hair on your head and wax the rest, if it bothers you.

Thanks for the reply.

I am wondering if the scalp irritation is causing the minoxidil to get further than the skin and therefore making everything hairy (as per the original oral minoxidil?)

If so, then does avoiding scalp irritation by taking breaks help prevent this?

I am beginning to think that
1> the minoxidil dose is too strong @6.25% and/or
2> the retonolic acid that aids absorbion is working too well and absorbing into my body -> gorilla!!

Here is further discussion about an upcoming regiem switch (to less minoxidil and start propecia)

minoxidil = Rogaine = a FOAM that you put on your hair/head right?

How on earth can that make hair on your body/back/arms grow?

In the morning and a couple of hours before bed.... Sometimes after shower or after washing hair.... Apply 1ml twice daily... ?

2 hours before bed is too short, as the liquid residue is probably rubbing on your pillow and then on to your face.

I got excess forehead hair and thicker eyebrows and eyelashes with Rogaine. Maybe a thicker beard too, due to systemic absorption.
My eyes are also getting very red lately, perhaps due to Finasteride, or maybe due to eyelashes going into my eyes from time to time, or maybe just age or allergies?!!

I have had a significant DECREASE in body hair from finasteride. It won't fall out but I use a hair remover a few times a year as I'm a Weightlifter and I noticed the hair grew back less and less each time

finasteride - finasteride = propecia? I am probably going to re-strat propecia and also go to Regaine extra strength 5%, less than current 6.35%minoxidil and no more retinolic acid.

I suspect that absorbion into my skin is the problem. Not wiping on the pillow ect like suggested, cos that does not explain the back, neck chest arms hair growth.!!.

Theory: Retinolic-Acid is causing excess absorbsion of minoxidil@6.25% ?

Back to 5% regaine now, and hope to phase out altogether.
My partner noticed a rogue black hair on her otherwise near-flwless body and I freaked.

Gone to Finasteride.
