Trying to get off of Minoxidil - Anyone have a solution?

Hey Everybody,
I've been on Minoxidil 5% for quite some time now. I switched to foam a few years back as the liquid made my scalp itch and peel, but now I've noticed that I have gotten dark undereye bags. I eat healthy, get exercise, sleep well, and am not stressed, so I have no other factors contributing. I've also noticed my face if puffier which is likely cause by water retention (I'm only 26). I will likely stop for 1-2 days to confirm this before completely stopping for good.
This being said, is there anyone out there who has successfully stopped minoxidil and replaced it without having a horrible shed? For me Finasteride and dutasteride are out of the question, as I don't want to mess with my body that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

even if u were prepared to take finasteride/dutasteride it wouldnt replace minoxidil. Its possible u may end up better off long term but i doubt it.

any hair u regrew from monixidil, is now dependant on its effects on potassium channels. so those hairs will surely fall out without it.

sorry, but there will be a shed. If however u can find something else that works, the new hairs from the new treatment may hide the fallen hairs from minoxidil.

but as far as i know nothing regrows hair as good as min. u tried a lower dose?

No, I haven't tried a lower dose yet. Do they make the foam in a 2% or are you just suggesting taking less of the 5% foam?

There's no 2% foam

If there is a product that can stimulate growth as well as minoxidil can, I have yet to see it.

Cutting down the amount of minoxidil you use might help with the bags under the eyes but you would have to prepare yourself to see a deterioration in hair count.
