Alright so...I'm taking the finasteride plunge again. I took brand name propecia for a month over a year ago. I started with .5mg every day..had sides...cut down to .25mg every day..sides improved a bit but came back...so I quit. Everything eventually went back to normal.

I'm now 25 years old, extremely healthy (only eat organic, don't eat processed foods, limited sugar, fresh vegetable juice daily, vitamins daily, fish oil, work out every day etc etc...yes I'm a f*****g health nut). I've been losing hair since about 22 years old.

This time I've ordered Cipla Finpecia off inhousepharmacy.biz. I plan to take .25mg every other day. I'm planning on staying on it for at least 3 months even if I have sides. I'm hoping that if I have sides again, they will subside at this dosage after 3 months (before I didn't give them a chance to subside, I just quit). If after 3 months sides are still a problem, I'm going to quit. If sides subside, I'm going to up the dosage to .5mg every other day or maybe .25mg every day and see if I can tolerate that.

This post will basically serve as a tool for me to keep track of things and for anyone who is interested to ask questions/see how things go for me. I don't think I'm going to post pics because..we all know finasteride works...if it works for me and regrows/stabilizes my hair I'll let you know. My main concern is the sides issue. If I get to the 3 month point and sides are not an issue then maybe I'll take some "before" pics (I know 3 months in isnt technically 'before' but it should be early enough to where things wont be too much different from now)

Thats all for now. The finpecia should arrive probably sometime late next week. Oh also I'll be taking it at night before bed along with 50mg of zinc. I've started taking the zinc daily already to get it in my system before the finasteride comes. This is to minimize the chance of increased estrogen being a problem.

Personally...I don't think you should journal anything or really worry about it if you're going to go 3 months "no matter what". Why not? Because what do you have to gain? Nothing. If you're LOOKING for side effects, then you will find them (not saying that you had phantom sides, just speaking in general terms). Your mind is a very very powerful thing. If it needs to find a reason for something, it will do just that.

Hell, I'm one of the largest supporters of finasteride here, and something even I freak out about potential sides! Just last week I had a momentary scare. On tuesday I woke up and my groin area hurt, and was really sore. It persisted and was still there on wednesday. "sh*t," I thought to myself, "is finasteride messing with my man-parts!?" and I started to freak a bit.

I stopped and though for a bit. I then remembered that on Monday I was playing basketball (like I do every monday night) and slipped on a wet spot and nearly did the splits. It didn't hurt at the time...but I'm not as young as I once was. I did some stretches after I remembered that...and could tell it was a pulled muscle.

Your mind....if it wants to believe something, it will find something to make itself believe it.

This is true..good point. I'm definitely during this time going to avoid looking at the forums. Starting today I'm not looking at any other topic. I'm sort of doing this as a service to other young guys who are in my position. I know that I appreciated when people would make posts like this when I was first starting out in the hair loss community.

I'm definitely not a hypochondriac. I haven't been to a doctor since high school (partly because i rarely get sick..and havent gotten severely sick..like..ever). I went into taking propecia believing that I would not have sides and not really believing the hype at all. Then my ejaculate went down to about nothing when I would jerk off and it was clear..on top of that it was hard to get an erection and when i did it was difficult to maintain..also morning wood stopped..so at that point i was like f*** I'm the "2%" i guess...

But we'll see. I'm hoping this time I have a similar experience to those who say they had sides but then went back to normal.

Kudos to ya bro, I'm in a similar sorta situation, also not the hypochondriac type, but yeah the propeciahell stories are crazy scary....

Like poeple wouldn't just make that stuff up on a whim, not too that extent, there must be something there..

It's the neurosteroid modulation/synthesis issues that concern me, and the fact that the science seems robust...

Happy training and hair regrowing brah!
