Tried To Ask My Barber For Some Tips, He Told Me "dont Use Anything But A Special Shampoo"

So yesterday, while I was getting a haircut, I tried to ask my barber for some tips.
He's bald and kinda young (around 30 years old), so I thought he has some experience in this field of hairloss products and meds.

He told me:
"Propecia will KILL your sex life and stay away from it"

He didn't even know what's minoxidil is. So I told him and told him that there are medical proves that minoxidil works, although it has some side effects like white flakes.
Right after that he told me "see, these all products and meds are full of sh*t and do nothing good for your health, I can recommend you a special shampoo that prevents losing hair."

I can't remember the name of the shampoo.
He told me "you're young, you don't need those meds and pills. Just the shampoo. And in my opinion you don't need to do anything. You still look great, small temples and that's it. It's the stress which causes you to lose your mind and lose your hair. You shouldn't think about hairloss in your age, I lost all my hair when I was 25."

I have told him "yeah. Especially because i'm young I can still prevent it and keep my hair. I should act now".

But then.. What caused me not to trust any of his words was that when I asked him about the shampoo that he was talking about "Can I order it online? Where can I buy it?" he told me "Don't trust online sites. Buy it only from trusted sellers like barbers and barbershops."

Then I understood that he just wants my money lol..

But what you guys think about it? Is this kind of shampoo really exists and works?

Oil is just used to condition your hair and scalp. The most an oil or shampoo can do is make your scalp and existing terminal hairs healthier. The terminal hairs seem healthier just from the outside. The entire hairloss mechanism is actually taking place beneath your scalp,inside your hair follicle. Hence,only a medicine that can inhibit the "dht f*****g up your follicle" process will be able to combat hairloss.

The barber is just salty.

He knows nothing of hair loss treatments, if he had and done his research, he'd still have most of his hair.

When these fellas are past the point of no return and cue ball, the only advice they have is to say 'just shave it bro' or in your case a 'special shampoo', as it's too late and they're just bitter and in complete denial.

People love to give ignorant uninformed opinions often not on purpose. People just love to talk whether they know anything about it or not. Id see a professional like a dermatologist that knows about hair, and go with their opinion vs a barber.
