Not that there is anything wrong with a transgender person. I'm wondering how many guys in this forum like to have a feminine appearance and use finasteride to achieve those results? Any transgender people here?

I was trying very hard to find photos and information on the lives of adult pseudohermaphrodites similar to the ones that Merck based their research and development to come up with finasteride. I couldn't find any photos that weren't of genetalia and found nothing about their lives and what it's like for them. Are they intelligent? Do they have gynecomastia? etc.

I did however find this: http://www.tgboards.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11889

The transgender people sometimes take 5 mg of finasteride for their hair loss.

I had to make some corrections above as I did not even read the forum before posting lol

Come to think of it. A transgender hair loss forum might be a good place to get good information on hair loss. They would desperately want to save their hair more than any other guy!

That's like a monumental moment in hair loss history right there!

Back to my original search though. Does anyone have more information / photos of the pseudohermaphrodites from Merck's research on developing proscar?

From a research perspective it is very educational though!

All things considered this article kind of shows finasteride to be quite beneficial for the adult male...

The guy is chiseled, has a full head of hair, no acne, and no prostate problems!

You are an anti finasteride guy, but I respect your stance. You are definitely putting some time into learning everything finasteride related. You aren't the typical "finasteride is poison" guy. Keep up the good work.

I took the drug for 7.5 years, I want to know as much about it as possible. Who knows, maybe I'd even take it again some day. My hair loss is snail speed. Merck came up with finasteride based on these pseudohermpahorodites in the domonican republic. I want to know what they found out about these men, and the process of their discovery.

The difference between these guevedoces men (penis at the age of 12) and us adult men that take finasteride is that they were born with the dht deficiency. For the first 12 years of their life they look like a prebusecent girl. Including their genetalia. Then as they go through puberty they turn into men! They appear to be quite muscular and masculine men at that! No gyno by any means. But does finasteride have that same effect on us adult men? Does finasteride make us muscular the way the guevedoces developed? Its hard to say. I think there are different mechanisms. When we reduce our dht our testosterone increases and so does our estrogen, this is an anomoly in the hormone world, it shouldn't happen that way. I think for the guevedoces men they always have had low dht. So when there testosterone spikes at puberty it doesn't also increase estrogen. It just is raw pure testosterone that doesn't get converted to dht, and doesn't get converted to estrogen. (this is just my theory)

Interesting that the dominican republic culture embraces and celebrates these ambigous gender children as they develop into adult men. That's very pleasing to hear.

bow before finasteride

Somehow der29 makes me think of the family guy episode with the subliminal messaging to get people to smoke cigarettes.

Smoke.

Are you smoking yet?
