Hi guys,
I am a newbie here and suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia (Norwood 3). I also have long hair and have found that tying back my hair into a ponytail has drastically accelerated the progression of my Androgenetic Alopecia. I literally find hairs pulled out in the elastic band I use to tie my hair. I have to have my hair tied back for most of the day as I work in a business environment.
I tie my hair tight and have read in a popular hair blog that traction alopecia is a real issue for those who expose their hair to any pulling, especially those like us suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia already. The blog author talks about what it is and what measures to take here:

Anyway, I'd like to know of any opinions or even experiences from those with Androgenetic Alopecia and long hair. I am considering cutting my hair, although leaviugn enough length to discreetly disguise the bald temples.
Cheers.
