i just ordered some 2% spironolactone. in liquid form suspened in water with 50% alcohol(i thought 50% was kinda high) and 30%propylene glycol and was wondering what time i should apply it and how often? i've read that topical spironolactone is only active in the site in which is applied. is this true? i also just started finasteride 1mg per day and topical rogaine and polysorbate 80 shampoo with biotin and niacin as well as nizoral shampoo.

Yes, where ever you apply it, it will be active. It might spread a little but not much. I would apply it before minoxidil and I apply spironolactone 2% three times a day( morning, afternoon, nighttime). I read somewhere that is isn't active all that long, so I apply it often. Some people may think I am nuts, but I want to keep my hair. Thats why people are on this site, right? :)

Hi,

I used spironolactone 2% in the past but without any real results. You can apply it before minoxidil or between the minoxidil applications. I don't know how much is absorbed and actually reaches the follicles, plus it probabely works for only a few hours. I HIGHLY recommend that you use Eucapil (Fluridil 2%) I have been using it 3 months now and I can see results. You apply it only once a day...it doesn't stink like spironolactone, and won't leave any residues on hair so you can use it in the mornungs. It does reach the follicles and stays there long enough.

Good luck,

If you want to use fluridil, just make sure to apply it after the minoxidil dries, then apply the fluridil. You don't want the fluridil to come in contact with water, as it'll make it degrade. :)
