Topical finasteride/dudasteride

Hi guys,
I have stopped using finasteride/dutasteride due to side effects and don't plan on restarting it orally. I have a bunch of extra tabs sitting around that I'm not going to use, so I'm thinking that I might as well try to make a topical finasteride or dutasteride. I know there is not a whole lot of evidence to back up the efficacy of a topical finasteride or dutasteride, but the worst that's going to happen is that it won't work...so can anyone give me any guidelines how to make a topical? For instance, what kind of vehicle should I try using - ethyl alcohol or something like dermovan? I'm allergic to PPG so I can't use that in ethyl alcohol, but I was thinking that I could substitute water or glycerine if I can find some. Also, if anyone has used a topical finasteride or dutasteride, have you had any success?

If someone tells me how to make a topical I'll keep you guys informed as to how or whether it works.

Thanks,
Luke

The worst thing that could happen isn't that it simply wouldn't work; the worst thing is that it would be absorbed systemically to a significant extent, and cause the same side-effects that you got when you took the stuff orally.

I would avoid using water as part of a topical vehicle, because those drugs aren't soluble in water. Use as pure an ethanol as you can get, along with (perhaps) some pure glycerine.

Just take the stuff orally. Or use an established topical treatment - theres enough to choose from: Revivogen, spironolactone, Nizoral, Azelic Acid, Dr Lee's Minoxidil solutions with DHT blockers etc. Stop confusing matters.
