Topical DHT Blocker

What is holding back a topical form of finasteride or some other DHT blocker. In my primitive reasoning it just seems logical to localize the effects. I'm sure it wouldn't be as effective as a systemic pill but it might be a somewhat effective alternative for those hesitant to take a systemic pill. I know there is much debate over the side effects or lack of side effects of propecia. That aside, why not the option? Is it unable to be absorbed topically? Unstable in solution?

Thanks

This is completely off the wall but I'll ask anyway. What if you dissolved some finasteride in rogaine. Would the alcohol denature the finasteride? Would finasteride and minoxidil react poorly? Could a dosage ratio be eventually determined? Can the finasteride be absorbed topically? I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone has ever thought of or tried this. I probably wouldn't try it, but it would be interesting to see if anyone has.

I think topical finasteride was tested, but proved to be uneffective, plus it had systemic reactions. I think though that some people do what you have said, they crash finasteride tablets in their minoxidil solutions. If you want to experiment you could do that, but i would risk the chance of finasteride and minoxidil reacting, therefore reducing the effectiveness of both.
