I just took my first Proscar. 1.25 mg. No side effects but it has only been half an hour. I was also prowling around the board and wanted to comment on a question that comes up from time to time. Why order online? Why risk it? I think I have the answer, at least in my case.
I live in the US. I have no medical insurance. I pay my own way and it is expensive. Two years ago when my back went out, missed some work, I went to my doctor and after spending over $500.00, and getting zero relief, I asked flat out, can I have some Vicodin (or similar.) I told him that I was tired of paying 80 bucks everytime I walked in his door with my aching back. He had tried two muscle relaxers all which gave me terrible sides, and one patch that did nothing at all. He said he wanted to try twice weekly physical therapy (at $160 a session for at least 4 weeks) before trying pain medication. As I left, I told him I was going to buy something on the street. I didn't. I found a friend who's doctor prescribes Vicodin like it's aspirin, who gave me 30 tabs from his huge stash. For a bad back, mind you. I took them for a week (half a tab at night so I could sleep, half a tab in the morning so I could function) and after finally getting some good sleep my back felt fine. I still have a few left which I'm sure have passed their expiration date. I still take them every now and again. To his credit my doctor called me twice to ask how my back was, and to my credit I told him about my "borrowed" Vicodin and that my back was fine. He told me the dangers of taking drugs that weren't prescribed to me, and I told him he wasn't hearing me and that I had to do something to get back to work or I'd end up out on the street. He just didn't get it.
Onto hairloss. Same scenario. Visit, now 100 bucks, blood tests 220, prescription (no refills) cost 105. I spoke to him before my appointment and told him I wanted Propecia and that if he was going to give me the runaround again and then tell me he wouldn't do it I'd find a new doctor. It took me ages to convince him to let me save a little money with Proscar vs Propecia. Next time I need them I'm sure he'll insist on more bloodwork, another visit.
If he does, I will either find another doctor (probably should anyway) or order generic Fincar from Inhouse. The same amount would cost about 30 there if memory serves. So 30 bucks vs 425 bucks to try something that might or might not work. I should have tried the 30 dollar route. For now I have an 8 month supply of what should be legit Proscar, enough to hopefully figure out if it's working or worth continuing.
f4f
FWIW, I've browsed a few years worth of posts here and have not seen one bad post about Inhouse. Saw several about United and some others.
FWIW2 this doctor wa the only guy in local practice accepting new patients. I'll have to travel 20plus miles to find new Doctor.
