Too late to stop rogaine?

SO. I'm a 22-year-old male, and I noticed this past March that my hairline seemed to be receding a bit. I saw a dermatologist and she prescribed Propecia, which i've been taking for about four months now. She said it would also be a good idea to start Rogaine if i was "serious about stopping hair loss." To be honest with you, i got the feeling that hair loss was not her area of expertise, as she took a quick look at my hair and gave me a prescription, with no real explanation or helpful information. Her answer to would either medication help in the hairline was that "it couldn't hurt, just do it everywhere"
I haven't been seeing results on the Propecia yet, and I'm very neurotic. A week ago, I bought a bottle of Rogaine Foam and started using it. I've also made an appointment with a new dermatologist, and my appointment is in a couple weeks.

My problem is, I am seeing some shedding from the Rogaine all around, and it is worsening the hairline. I understand that it will grow back, but I don't know if I should stop the Rogaine and wait until i get the go-ahead from the dermatologist, since i'm now reading that it's best to wait 6-12 months on one treatment before starting another.
My question is, since i've now applied Rogaine about 15 times, is it too late to stop the Rogaine? I do want to regain the hairs forced into a dormant state, but continuing the Rogaine will make me lose more before it starts to grow back. Will stopping rogaine mean that I won't grow back what it originally knocked out? I also don't want to screw around too much with my scalp chemistry of the dermatologist does tell me to pick up the Rogaine.
I suppose a good moral to this story is that I shouldn't act before getting a professional opinion.

Does anybody have any advice? Sorry to push it, but I feel like i'm potentially doing something counterproductive bordering on downright damaging twice a day.

There isn't any evidence that minoxidil causes hair loss. If you stop using it, you will lose whatever benefits you had gained. That's all.

And...at 15 uses, I doubt it has had any impact on your hair at all. Really. Just chill.

Edit: Lol, I just looked at the date and it seems as if my reply is way too late. But even after these 10 days, you could quit without shedding too much.
