Well, I HAD been growing my hair out for 7 months and decided today that I would have it cut. I have been scared to have it cut since I started finasteride because I have lost a TON of hair since I started. Well, I went in and told the woman that I wanted it short but not too short because I was on finasteride and had been shedding. She looked at me like I was speaking swahili so then I told her that it is known to cause your hair to shed. Anyway, she took her comb and ran it thru my hair and goes, "Oh yeah, I see what you mean."
I was not a very happy camper at that point and was considering hightailing it out of there since she had no idea about Propecia/Proscar and wasn't really humoring me very much, but decided to stick it out. Boy am I happy I did, she gave me the best haircut I have gotten in a long time. She didn't go quite as short as i usually do, but she far exceeded my expectations and so did my hair. I would say I am as critical of my hair as anyone else on here. The part was a little thin, but no more than usual and the rest was perfect. I have been seeing what I thought was shedding for quite some time now, pretty much since month 2 of finasteride, and to be pretty much where I was at when I started at is such a relief. Don't get me wrong, it is a bit thin, but I would have thought I would have big bald patches by now.
Well, I suppose that is enough gloating for now. The moral of the story is while it may seem that it is going bad, it just may not be as bad as you think.
