Tips on Working With Walkers Ultra Hold Adhesive

Hey guys, am having a few issues with the water based glues therefore have ordered UH. I will only be applying this to the front 1cm of my swiss base hairline. I have a few questions:

1) How many layers of Max Sport do most people use? On the bottle it says one or two. Should it be thin layers?
2) I think one layer of UH is sufficient (from the little stuff I've read and just have to wait for it to dry properly). Again I'm not sure how thick this layer should be?
(I am asking these questions because with the water based ones, I've found the thinner the layers the better but many layers)
3) I have read this stuff is hard(er) to work with therefore how do touch-ups work? I have read it's a lot harder to get it off lace so will the standard cotton wool trick work? To do a touch-up normally I need to clean the area first but what is the optimal way to do this?
4) A general question, overnight I always find hair sticks to my hairline as there will always be a few mm's between the glue line and the lace. How do you deal with this? Currently everyday I use alcohol on those hairs and release them.

Any tips with working with the stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I don't think UH is recommended to be applied on lace directly. Safe Grip is a good water based glue that works best on lace systems. But if you are using UH, maybe you can use a scalp protector or knot sealer first. Otherwise the hair will pull from underneath.

Cheers, I use a scalp protector then UH on scalp. Wait 10 mins then put down, holding for 10 secs in each spot.

The glue itself is a little tricky to work with but the positioning spray works wonders. I use the positioning spray on a silicone brush to evenly apply it and temporarily stop it from being so stringy. A little spray helps with getting the brush back into the bottle too which was a nice unexpected surprise when I first did it without the spray. It seems alcohol makes it more liquid so easier to work with but important not to overdo it. The glue works really well for me but I use it only on the very edge so very little.

You can dilute *Walker* ultrahold by 25-50% with 99% alcohol.....without losing any appreciable hold time....Making it significantly easier to use....

Had no idea, don't tell me I missed that on the bottle! Cheers for the tip, I am going to do that. How many drops would you say is optimal for the smallest bottle?

It doesn't say it on the bottle. Why would a company tell you how to double the size of their product, without spending more?

I don't use drops. Again, Dilute by 25 to 50% with 99% alcohol.

Good point. 25-50% is quite a large band. What specific dilution percentage do you use?

Don´t know why everyone uses this since there is silicon stuff out there. It must be very safe since the ladies used this stuff to pimp their breasts....

There has been previous threads on this and it's older tech and doesn't hold as well for people with oily skin.

That was the 1st adhesive I used. It was absolutely awful. Didn't hold well at all, for me.

Unfortunately all of the harmful chemicals are needed to make a good acrylic adhesive.

@TooBad - I'm having one last small issue which I was wondering how you get around. I can't manage to get an even thin layer. The ghost bond is much easier purely because you can dab small dots and then just spread it evenly but with UH I use a silicone brush like this:

I then use the brush from the bottle to put a bit on the end and then apply it. But it's always thicker in the part I started off at. It's not a huge problem but would be nice to get this last part done well. Do you have any tips on this?

Diluting ultrahold, with 99% alcohol, will make it much easier to apply thinly, with the supplied brush.

The Carrier in ultrahold evaporates quickly, I would imagine it would be very difficult to apply with a silicone tool.....halfway through spreading, it would probably start grabbing.
