Hi

I'm thinning rapidly on the crown. My father, half brother and brother are all bald.
I was the only sibling to have a fairly thick head of hair.
I'm 58 and it's thinning and I can see scalp. What's the timeline of complete hair loss in someone of my age?

Go see a dermatologist maybe try finasteride and minoxidil if you are in good health for such drugs.

No offense but a man at your age its not bad. I know its still upsetting.

I know its never easy going bald at any age. But for your age no one would look twice at your hair . Its fairly standard for men your age.

Losing hair in teens/20s /30s is alot worse in my opinion. You had a good run..

What you mean by "complete hair loss"? Even Norwood 7 has some hair in donor area left.

No way for US to know you have to go to a dermatologist.
It depends HOW aggressive your hair loss is and it depends what is going on hormonally and your family history how fast they lost etc.

There really isn't a way to predict how long it will take, if it even happens, your hairloss will be. Pretty much impossible, actually. You are closing in on 60, and as you stated, are a lucky one as hairloss seems to be pretty strong in your family. One thing I can tell you...your siblings and other bald members in your family probably stare at your hair for years and have been envious for years. Probably downright exsasperated as to "why did he get to have hair and I didn't"! That's what I'd be thinking!!
