I posted a thread last day about my experience with Finasteride(http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=71527)

Summorize: I started Finasteride 11 months ago without noticing any sides except a decrease in libido. A week ago I decided to take half the dose, from 1.25mg to 0.625mg. I noticed my hormones went out of balance, my DHT probably peaked for a couple of days and this is when I realized all the sides that had sneaked up on me. Mostly how it affected my brain and the way I was thinking/acting, my prostate also got swollen. After 7 days the peak started to wear off and I was at the same state as before I lowered the dosage.

This scared me, and even though I like my new personality(more relaxed/more boring), I liked my old one better(restless alpha male). This is why I decided to stop Finasteride completely and see if everyting goes back to the way it was before. Perhaps it wont, and then I know for sure that my change in personality didn't have anything to do with Finasteride, but maybe it did..

I still would like to fight the male pattern baldness, so what is the best choice to replace Finasteride with?

I myself stopped taking Propecia 3 days ago after a 5 month spell on around 0.33 to 0.25 a Propecia tablet a day. I was taking it about 5 times a week. Had no sexual side effects really possibly less powerful orgasms maybe. I drink heavily & had so bad a nagover yesterday that i thought i was having a breakdown & called my friend in tears. Im a bit better today but im stopping finasteride as i was having increased Depression with it. Id rather be Bald & Sane than have some hair & be out of my mind.
Anyone here have any mental trouble quitting Propecia etc? How long should it take before all is well again??

Don't listen to the hysteria regarding dutasteride being worse. I made the switch from finasteride and I've had no sides.

Give it a try.
