My derm won't prescribe me propecia because she said my DHT is too low as is and I risk developing cancer?
Look at Dr. Bernstein's patients, who only used medications. There's one guy, out of fifty, who only used
Minoxidil. So, she might be right, but who am I to say.
That guy is white, and he grew ALL of it back. Hairline, temples, vertex, everywhere.
Your hairline looks decent though. It might just take longer for your temples to grow back. Plus, you've probably
lost your hair less than five years. Those people usually see the best results.
That's good. That means it's not too late. Outside that window, you would probably
have permanent loss.
But your pictures look like you regained most of it. It's interesting that she says the
DHT is low though.
What does she think is causing the hair loss?
The thing is your hairline does seem good now. Are you taking any finasteride now at all?
But it might not be enough.
It sucks to have low thyroid, as that can make your energy level low.
Just curious, she is an endocrinologist, correct?

So is the hair loss due to an inactive thyroid?
But your hair is thick though.
It does suck to have an inactive thyroid. I have the same thing.
Do you think an endrocrine specialist might be more helpful? You probably already went on that
path though.
She is a dermatologist. I'm on no anti androgen... 2% keto is the only "anti androgen" I'm on. I'm hoping my diffuse hair loss is the under active thyroid but Idk man. This sucks.
Low thyroid will kill your hair man. It happened to my little sister and she was a 20 year old WOMAN. First order of priority is to get your physiology in check. Stop thinking about finasteride right now. You're killing it with minoxidil. One thing at a time my friend. Get your thyroid balance in order.

By "killing it" I mean you're doing really with it.
