Thoughts on Argan Oil? Or other oils for longevity?

Hey guys, I followed up with my stylist last week (I'm at the 1 month mark with wearing a system.)

I asked her about argan oil to extend the life of the system, especially for minimizing breakage.

She said that she had many clients come back and complain about argan oil reducing the life span of the system. She advised me to avoid it, and just use a leave-in conditioner.

Are there any long-term argan oil (or similar oil) users here that can share their experience, especially in terms of longevity? If I could get 6 months out of a system, I'd be over the moon.

I have used it as a conditioner on my hair and with their shampoo version for six or more years and I love it for those purposes but I think it is too gunky to put the oil on my wig but maybe just on the bottoms of strands.

For the way I style my hair (like a messy Ivy League) argan oil seems to work well, I just hope that it doesn't accelerate breakage or hair loss as my stylist suggested!

It's sort of a longer crew cut with a quiff. The argan oil gives it more of a wet look which serves pretty well for the top. I just try to avoid any gels or hairspray.
I am just noticing hair styles like I have been condemned to doing since I was 20. But Bob, you don't have to brush it all forward like that unless you are balding or wearing a system. You don't need to trick anyone plus it's always the guys with the perfect hair who are relentless about hiding it under backward-turned baseball caps.

I use Hask Argan Oil shampoo (and sometimes conditioner, though for that I mainly use Back2Natural) and it is great. No negative effects on my hair system at all. But I haven't tried pure Argan Oil on its own. I think that's only for subtle use, a quick brush through or on the ends. A spray leave in conditioner is fine (you can get these with Argan Oil in them also).

Hair System DIY YouTuber says Argan Oil makes the hair systems hair last longer using it.
As like a kind of leave in conditioner kind of thing.

I've used Argan oil quite extensively on a previous system. It is a good short term fix, adding life in the hair and allow me to style it. Over a few weeks/months though the hair does seem to suffer more, becoming dryer and brittle, losing colour and even staining my UTS over time.

I just stick to leave-in conditioners now like Aussie or Revlon Equave. These give a light hold and a healthy shine, and wash out simply with water in the shower.
