Hey guys, I'm new to the forum (even though I've been creeping around for a while), and I wanted to hear from the guys who came of finasteride. What was your method to coming off? Please be specific. I have been taking it for abou 45-50 days and I don't think my system is responding well to it. So please respond, any thoughts are appreciated.

More info on how your body is responding to it, please. The more info we have, the better we can respond to your situation.

Sorry about that. I am just feeling generally weaker. My mood is down most of the time. And the way I'm getting erections now just feels different. It is just a bit more difficult to get them compared to before I started finasteride. I can still get them and maintain them, but it's just different. So I'm guessing my body is not responding well to finasteride. So now my original question for those who got off finasteride: what was your process to avoid a crash?

I just stopped immediately. The first time I had been on for quite a while and when I quit my sex drive came back like some sort of raving beast. The second time I quit, this past September, it was a more slow recovery but I never had a 'crash' of any sort.

I'd advise that you come off finasteride immediately, don't worry, there are very, very few people out there who crash from coming off it, especially after only 50 days usage...

You should feel completely normal again around 3 weeks after quitting, this has been the case with most people including myself...

Some people may advise you to simply drop dosage to .5mg or .25mg a day, don't waste your time doing this as studies show these amounts inhibit just as much DHT as 1mg and thus cause the same amount of side effects.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I also think quitting immediately is the best option since I haven't done it for that long. Hopefully things workout. So now I guess I'm gonna go see a dermatologist who deals with this stuff and ask for topical solutions since I don't want my hormones outta whack.

An obvious thing you could try is the Proxiphen/Prox-N line of products (Prox-N is a less expensive, OTC version of Proxiphen). The doctor who designed these products claims that Proxiphen is more effective than using Propecia alone. These are just topical products, and won't affect your blood level of DHT.

Have you tried just reducing your dosage first? Perhaps down to .5mg for a bit to see how you react that that.

And there's Bryan shilling the Prox crap again. "An obvious thing"..only to someone shilling and spamming.

The "doctor" who made those claims has nothing to back those claims up with...even after decades have gone by.
