But I'm going to ask anyway. I'm taking a physical for a new job where they take a hair sample for drug testing. I'm on finasteride but like alot of peeps I just get it over the net and have no prescription. Here's my question: Does anyone know if a drug like finasteride will show up on a well involved drug test? If I put that I'm taking finasteride w/out a prescription then I fear they will think I have potential to take other meds w/out consulting a Doctor and that's not good. If I leave it off and they find it in my hair samples then that's not a good thing either. Help!! I just want my hair and I just want a decent job for a change.

Propecia should make no difference on your test. I believe these test are primarily for amphetamines so you should be ok.

Don't worry about the test - they have to check specifically for each drug, and they will not test for Finasteride as it's not an illegal substance like cocaine, ecstacy, amphetamine etc.

I'd be more worried about them stealing some of your precious hair
