Thinking about trying rogaine, but have some questions.

  • How exactly do you apply the foam? They say half a cap full, but then how would you get it out of the cap and onto the scalp? If I just apply to the scalp how do I know if I'm getting to little or too much?
  • Most of my thinning is on the crown/middle of head. My hairline is a NW1.5 MAX but the left seems to have been very very slowly moving while the right is in the same position it was 5 years ago. I hear a LOT of horror stories about rogaine foam and the hairline. I've read it has "eaten" away hairlines. Now I know it might not work on my hairline, but I don't even want to try it if its gonna make it worse. Are these horror stories rare? Or should I just put it on my crown?

hi
how short is your hair? if your hair is long, half a cap full rogaine foam won't be enough to cover your scalp and most of it will just get wasted on your hair before it gets into your scalp. So if you have long hair, it might be better to get a liquid version?. Regarding application, I don't use the cap. I just rub it between my hands to liquidize and apply it to my scalp. It doesn't have to be half a cap full. You just need to experiment a bit to find the right amount.

I haven't heard about rogaine foam destroying hair line but I doubt it does. I mean if the foam version does ruin your hair line, the liquid version should do too. They both have minoxidil as the main ingredient. I guess unless you try it yourself, you will never know!!
Good luck!!
