Always had thin hair and currently probably shed about 10-15 or so hairs in the shower which is more than usual. Although when I was prescribed Adderall a year ago (and stopped) I shed like CRAZY. I also have seborrheic dermatitis that comes and goes which is a major pain in the ***. It's hard to get a good pic, it's amazing how much light/angle can make your hair look better or worse. What do you guys think?

You still have a lot of hair. Only you can decide on the finasteride. I had hair like yours about 5 years ago and now have a bald crown. You would get very good results with Toppik or nanogen which really thickens the hair up. Because you don't have any bald spots you wouldn't need a lot and it would be unnoticebale. I would also recommend the spray applicator, its much better than tipping of out the pot.

Thanks for the suggestions. Is .5mg a good starting point? ..and would finasteride and Nizoral able to thicken up/regrow the hair or would it just allow me to keep what I have? I would use Rogaine but I know for a fact there is no way I'm going to consistently put that stuff on my head twice a day (unless I carry it with me everywhere, lol). If there is an alternative for Rogaine or easier way to apply it that'd be awesome.

Going to order the finasteride today. Here we go..

Roommate in college took finpecia then finax (sp?) with good results. My gp won't give it to me, he just kind of laughed it off. Dermatologist gave me Clobitisol shampoo for the dermatitis and also kind of laughed off the propecia thing. Don't want to spend more money just so I can't get denied again.

I'm on Finpecia, 7 months now, good results at the front, but going through a minor shed now, boo, yeah, look at my signature, 0.5mg of finasteride and Nizoral Mon/Wed/Fri. My GP also laughed at me when I asked him, "hahaha, there's nothing you can do it about it, it's natural" ...... yeah, that's because you're a Norwood 7 ... :thumbdown2:

The derm was like "oh you're fine it's a little thin on the crown", and went about her way :shakehead:. Glad I spent money on that advice, lol. What are you on the Norwood if your temples and hairline are fine but have a thinning crown?? I guess I should be glad that's still normal for the time being.

Never had problems with my crown, was my left temple was thinning, thankfully it's thickened up, but like I said, going through a minor shed, if you can't get a prescription find a reputable online pharmacy, I can give you links if you want, just PM me.

Well took it for 4 or 5 months, ran out, couldn't find anymore so was on a break for a few months now back on for 4 months. Hair seems to be stronger and less wispy. Hair loss has slowed down or stopped. Used to shed 10-20 hairs at least in the shower and have hair on my bathroom counter-top. Now I see maybe 1 or 2 hairs in the shower and basically nothing on my countertop. No sides. Had little bit of forehead acne and watery semen briefly the first go round. Nothing so far this time.
