What a little prick DNA is.. exon1? You mean to tell me that we're balding because of a mistake in a totally useless sequence? Way to rub it in there

Bravo, Armando, bravo!
There are people trying to find the defective gene(s).
That's great news, guys!

To quote the article:

"...Genetic association studies have substantiated an association between the androgen receptor (AR) gene and androgenetic alopecia in men (6–10), as well as loci on chromosome 20 and the EDA2R gene (11)..."

They know at least some of these associations, the entire human genome has been mapped, we have advanced the capabilities of supercomputers recently and more scientists/companies are researching the connection. Sure it will take time but relish the fact that you are alive now not 50 years ago.

The damn double helix was discovered just in MY lifetime!

From the study,

"In this study, PCOS patients with normal glucose tolerance were administered testosterone (T) infusions, and measurements of insulin resistance (HOMAIR) revealed a direct correlation between insulin resistance (IR) and the mean number of CAG repeats in response to T. Patients with a bi-allelic mean CAG 23 responded to increasing serum T with increased IR; in contrast, patients with CAG >23 revealed no evidence of IR and actually had improved glucose tolerance with increasing T."

So we just need to increase our bi-allelic CAG repeat length to >24 and we will no longer be "allergic" to androgens. This should help not just with hair loss but other diseases like prostate and heart. Should be no big deal. Should be done in <5 years.
