I...
Really sometimes dislike message boards as it is hard to separate anecdotal evidence from actual studies.
I recently went into 2 dermatologists (1 being a "regular" dermatologist and the other being a hair specialist) and after speaking with both they suggested Minoxidil as I was starting to experience light hair miniaturization around my hairline. At this time they did not suggest Propecia as I have an extensive history with anxiety, depression, and OCD and they said that it had been shown to exacerbate those conditions in some people. The idea is to take Rogaine for 6 months and then come back and evaluate.
I began to use it around a month ago and have seen a fairly extensive shed so far. It may be slowing down a bit, but it is hard to tell. I definitely feel "weird" if I put it on a wet scalp, but typically nothing when I apply as directed (weird how that works right?).
That being said, after looking up sides on the internet I see a lot of concern about the heart enlarging properties of the drug. Being a recovering (and admitted) hypochondriac, I was hoping I could get some more clear and concise information on what the likelihood and effects of cardiovascular related issues arising from long term Rogaine use might be.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
