The Tiime It Takes And The Patience Game

I've been going round and round the internet reading doctor's advice (speculation?) and personal anecdotes.
Most places, it says Finasteride 1mg takes a year. If it doesn't show any result in a year, then it isn't working.

Others claim that it works, but may show NO RESULT in 12 months. Even so, it can show results in the following year.

Based on this, should I keep hoping, or quit on it?

I've been on finasteride since March 1, 2016 and I can't say I have any imrpovement. Till a couple of months ago, I was holding up fine.... so I thought it might work, but now I'm RAPIDLY losing ground on my hairline to the point that I have only some "baby hair" (dying hair I guess) left on my temples and look horrible under bright lights.

Could be that you now started the pre-growth shed and will be fine in three month or you are a non responder and have to switch to dutasteride.
Your story is not that uncommon for successful treatment. I read something similar last week. Nothing for a year that heavy shedding then regrowth.

Maybe add dutasteride once a week?

I took finasteride 8 months no result, not even a stop. Lost horrible ground. I quitted. Now restarted a month ago due to no alternatives.

I used RU in the 6 month between but it worked even worse. Only explanation I have is, heavy shed in this age range or no responder -.-
Dunno what to expect now, good luck to you.
