The Things I did Wrong...

19 years old, Norwood 2, new to this site, but am no newbie

Things I did wrong:

1) Took Prostol (Saw Palmetto and Nettle mix) in combination with Propecia for 4 months

2) Stopped minoxidil for a month after using it for 3 months

3)Bought propecia from a Canadian website and it shipped from Brazil (of all places) (might be legit, but wish I never bought non-US propecia)

4) When I first got nizoral, I used it everyday for a month rather than every 3-4 days

5) Took propecia twice daily for one week because I wanted "results"

Things I now do right:

1) Dropped SP and nettles, use propecia 1 mg daily

2) Use minoxidil twice daily, without fail

3) I buy legit USA-made propecia from my general hospital pharmacy (my insurance pays for half of it. So I get 100 pills for $95.50 with free shipping. This is cheaper than the brazilian propecia I bought a few months ago.

4) Use nizoral every 3 days, leave on scalp for a few minutes than wash out

5) My regimen:

legit USA-made Propecia 1 mg daily
minoxidil 5% twice daily
Nizoral every 3 days
Folligen Spray (using it up by putting it on just before I shower, then washing it out) I will drop this when I run out

I do dabble in some supplements: Just started a few weeks ago
MSM 1000 mg daily (may raise this to 2000 mg)
GSE 50 mg daily (may raise this to 100 mg)
Horsetail 500 mg daily (may drop this)
Multivitamin (won't help hairloss)

This is my history of using hairloss products: Learn from this! Don't make the same mistakes I did. Just use the Big 3: propecia, nizoral, minoxidil. Supplements are optional and at your own risk. I am not a doctor, but I do know a thing or two about hairloss treatment after learning from experience. Good luck with everyone's regimen!

I started finasteride on April 24th this year. I started minoxidil 3 weeks later on the 19th May and used Nizoral aswell. I used all 3 for about 3 months together.

After about 3 months of aplying minoxidil twice daily, i realised I couldnt keep doing it, as it made my hair look worse - despite results I decided to stop using it at about 4 mths after starting - but continued propecia and nizoral.

MISTAKE.

What a mistake it was stopping minoxidil! The shed I've had over the last 4 months has been horrid.

I've now from this day decided to get back on it and use it twice daily with out fail.

sh*t.

Folligen Spray (using it up by putting it on just before I shower, then washing it out)

Its really supposed to be on your scalp overnight for maximum effect. Washing it right off is a waste of time.

I used to put it on at night, but I don't like the idea of leaving green gunk on the head all night long, seriously I think it's like leaving shampoo on your hair for 8 hours which really does not appeal to me.

I also want to stop folligen, so I am just using it up in this way (putting it on for maybe 30 minutes then washing it out in the shower). This way I get some use out of it, plus avoid the gunk in the hair at night. I don't want to keep using folligen for the rest of my life. It's green and it's gross.

But yeah, you guys are right. I should add another thing to my list of things I did wrong, but I think what I did wrong was buying folligen in the first place. Stick to the big 3.

Canadian Propecia is the same stuff you get in The States, just make sure you get it from a reliable source and your set.
