I´m on month 5 in my treatment. I´m curious to know if any of you has experienced any regrowth or thickening of the hair when month 6 arrived. Especially if you´r diffusers, as I am.

Was is subtle or notorious?

Did you noticed it overnight or gradually?

By watching new hairs growing or just becouse it grows thicker?

Also, any comment related about 6 months experiences will be fine.

Well I'm in the same boat as you...I'm in my 6th month with a little regrowth.

I swear, my mind and the mirrors play constant tricks on me. At one point it looks as if my hair has improved, but then the next day it looks so much worse. It's a rollercoaster ride and it's still hard to judge whether or not things are improving.

my thinning is not diffuse, though..it's true male pattern baldness..receding + thinning on the vertex...I went for a haircut a couple days back and now i can see scalp on the vertex again..it looks the same way it did before starting treatments....I guess I'm going through ANOTHER shed...

so to answer your question...I really don't know if my hair is improving or not...all I can say is at the worst : I have maintained so far.

Just stick with treatments and things should get better.

Everyone results are different. Just because some people will start at month 6 will not mean it will do for you. Stay with it for atleast 1 year and dont think about it.

I don't have any "notorious" or noticeable regrowth 8)

but I am only at month 1 so I would like some stats on this too just to know what to expect

At 4.5 months, looks like my hairline isn't receding anymore, but I've shed and it looks horrible. I hope it thickens up soon. I hate it. My scalp "feels" healthy like hair should be growing, but it doesn't seem to be.

Thanks for the answers.

I noticed that my hair is thicker than in it was at month 3, but I´m sure that it is the same as before treatments, with no significative changes.

I´m not hoping for amazing regrowths or something like that, just some overall thickening. I´ll stay waiting like before, but this thing is tedious.

Also the mirror is playing tricks at me everyday when I look at the mirror. Pics are so much neccesary, but I made the tremendous of not taking baseline pics, but I have pics at month 4, at least. I´ll take new ones when month 6 arrive and then judge.

Also, I feel my scalp so good, in very good shape, like never before (I have seb derm) and also feels like hair "should" be growing. :)

We deserve good regrowth just for being waiting so anxiously ...

go finasteride go!!!

:agree:

At month six, i was growing desparate and my obsession with mirrors and combs was at it worst. Terrible days. I think i've experienced a couple of serious sheds, which made me believe at the time that i was losing more and more ground. So have patience, my friends!
Approaching the one year mark now and results are becoming more satisfactory. Temples continue to receede a bit, but not so rapid as during the first couple of months, when i was panicking very much like jfrank is doing now. Vertex and crown area, the initial problem area, has more or less maintained. Only true downside is that my hair still looks still awful when wet, horseshoe pattern is easily visible.

i saw pictures from 6 months ago (i am diffuse with worse thinning at temples, but still prob Norwood 1.5-2 overall) before i began treatment and my hair looks better now, and i know i've seen some regrowth at the hairline from rogaine(too little to be of cosmetic value), but my hair also feels weaker, yet the pictures don't lie cause it looks better so hopefully the weak feeling will go away. also, i notice tons of hair in my hands when i shampoo but this just goes to show that that doesn't always matter, because i am pretty sure my hair hasn't gotten worse.

jfrank is doing worse.... i'm at 3.75 months on finasteride... my once perfectly thick hairline (4 months ago) is now obsolete.. i mean it is terrifying to look at... and i dont know what to do.. it shed started when i started propecia, had an acelerated phase when started, then slowed down, but now accelerated again.... given all we know about it, propecia should not make u go lose hair faster, but i am slowly having doubts as to future success... i will stay in propecia.....

what are the odds of having propecia induced hairloss be reversed???????????????????????// i dont know what to do anymore..
