The Laser Effect

There is an ongoing debate on HLH about this laser comb, and as usual Farrel, the moderator is up against some forum regulars. I find it funny how Farrel keeps on insisting on his medical points about this against Dr Feller.

All I can advise Dr Feller is, it's useless to debate a medical point with a non-doctor; just like a legal point with a non-lawyer.

Links are here and here.

But I believe Farrel and Dr Bauman have a point in this. Even if Dr Feller is convincing enough that laser has no effect on the cells since it dissipates immediately, the parallel of serendipity to grow hair cannot be ignored. Remember Minoxidil, this originally is an antihypertensive drug.

It's a nice debate since neither would accept he is wrong. But I find Farrel being humiliated by the posts of Dr Feller.

My inclination is to see it as just another hairloss product on the market. Overall, I see very few guys benefit from it, but every now and then someone claims it has stimulated some new growth. I have seen a few pics but far and few between. Others swear it has stopped their hairloss, but I beg to differ.

The main culprit of male pattern baldness is as we know, DHT. That's what has to be addressed, the source of the problem. The laser therapy does not inhibit this hormone. So even if there are some visual improvements noted, IMHO, it will be temporary because the miniturization process continues on.

I am not trying to attack anyone here, but honestly, the biggest proponents of these laser combs seem to be the ones who are making money selling them! :youbet:

The claims of laser effect is really highly skeptical. The best persons to listen to are those who won't benefit from it, those who have no agenda.

Gillenator, I thought you hit the nail right on its head by that quote.

I would have thought we would have heard more from women using the product, especially those with a diffused thinning pattern, but very little feedback to date.
