but there other doctors such as GHO, Anderans company i believe, a company i read in Wired magazine, there is others too.

3) A very good topical anti androgen localized to the scalp if DHT is behind hariloss at around 100 percent. what would make it more effective if it somehow blocks the immune system from acting only on the follicle, from what i read around is that the immuens system attacks the follice that is swamped with dHT the immune system see it only as foreign body, which it is why it's imperative to get dandruff under control.

How does the body fight viruses, it utlimately wins by attaching antibodies to the viruses, this analoge to a good anti androgen for hairloss

Me thinks as hair transplants become more advanced and new procedures are developed, they will give adequate coverage and great results (given the subject has enough donor hair). This is what I'm hoping for. When I DO need a hair transplant, I hope the techniques will be mastered.

body hair seems to be being pursued agressively, also dr cole is experimenting with splliting hte donor hair instead of taking the whole follice Fue style so who knows.he'll hae some resutls by this october. that we the donor hair remains and the hair also grows in other places, i wonder if they would both replinish themselves, coz cells do divide to heal themselves right. we do have more options now.... and i am hearing body hair assume some characteristics of scalp hair. a little longer and a little thicker,

What I don't understand is why if the folical is attacked like a foreign body why isn't there a drug to "trick" our immune systems. Just like when you get a liver transplant and your body rejects it.

You mean supress our immune system? You wouldn't want to put your life on the line because of hair loss would you? The increased risk of infection from anything, not to mention cancer, is enough to put that out of the question.

Besides, the vast majority of male pattern baldness is caused by DHT binding to androgen receptors in the hair, causing miniturisation, rather than an auto-immune problem.

My bet is on a tablet which blocks DHT production.. oh wait, its called finasteride! Maybe a better version on it, that has an almost 100% inhibitation of DHT. Lets face it, if finasteride doesn't work for you, they your hairloss is most likely not related to DHT/androgen, auto-immune disease, chronic inflammation, malnutrition... there's just too many possibilities for a one size fits all treatment!

I think the only big solution would be gene therapy,which if we knew all the genes in the body i dont think we would ever die of any cancers.Then again..i think gene therapy doesnt prevent heart disease which is the number one killer.......hmmm......maybe i should put down the bagel and pick up a pear.

If your idea of a cure is to keep all your original hair then no cloning is not a cure. But all that really matters to most of us is getting a full head of hair back even if it was cloned, which cloning should accomplish.

The whole point is to get back a full head of hair without a wig is it not? So I would consider a full head of cloned hair a cure for baldness no matter what some people say. I doubt any of us would be on this site if cloning was available today, because each and everyone of us would be very happy with our hair.
