You are unlikely to have a shed that you notice.

The people who do not shed, do not post.

The peolple who do shed, post and post again.

In my opinion shedding form the use of 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors or the use of minoxidil is not as coomon as the panickers would have you believe.

I have used both propecia and minoxidil for 1 year and then for 1.5 years, I did not notice a shed at all, most people do not notice a shed.

Not me, I feel like I shed every other month or so! But, after going through the sheds, and realizing that none of these sheds ever really did any 'damage' to my hairline or thickness and that my hairline continued to improve, they don't bother me anymore.

In fact, I don't pay attention to it anymore and haven't 'noticed' any shedding in a while. I know I have shed hairs, but it just doesn't invoke the same anxiety that I had back when I was a newbie. I think that people suffering from male pattern baldness are hyper-sensitive to sheds and worry about it too much. When you stop paying attention to each and every shed hair you see and just relax and have confidence in your regimen, you stop noticing it. Despite the sheds, my hair continues to improve. That's just my opinion.

The gardener is correct. Once you have an initial shed then it's more or less plain sailing from then on in. We all read about and if you have done your research then you must expect a shed at some point in the treatment.

Granted, it's still worrying and even I was taken back a bit when I had one. But you soon realise that the hair recovers and you seem to then relax a bit.

Good luck in your treatment.

i have found a cure for the common shed! when you notice a shed just pop a whole pill of proscar instead of the 1/4th pill. it's only 3/4th more and it has always stopped the shed for me to where i see 1, maybe 2 hairs in the shower

you guys are welcome

The shed myth (not that sheds do not exist, but that they are common and severe) will only be fuelled by thread title like 'The Brutal Shed' those few that do experience a synchronization of the hair growth cycle will unlikely suffer any major cosmetic change.
