For those highly skilled out there who can actually consistently cut a proscar into 1/5ths, or even accurately into 1/4ths every time, how do you do it?

Is it best to cut quickly? ie---to press down firmly and quickly, or to gently cut?

or.........do you "saw" through it so to speak?

Every time i have tried so far, it splinters and crumbles every where, but on the website listed below, this guy did it perfectly........

If you don't mind, take us novices step by step on how you master the split!!!

Line up the blade straight down, right where it needs to be. Be exact.

Firm push. No sawing.

So yeah I suppose quickly is one way to put it.

can you cut into five pieces without splintering and crumbling?

if so, how do you do it consistently?

(i want to be a proscar-cutting ninja)

well, i am actually using a generic finasteride (made by teva)
it is rectangular and every time i try to cut it (similar to what you show on that diagram) i get a bunch of crumbles and splinters

i guess it just takes practice to get a clean cut on each piece without crumbling and splintering

thanks for the diagram and the advice

Does anyone think that having your finasteride exposed to air for a few days will reduce its effectiveness?

yes some people think so. so you should only have one pill cut up at a time.[

Thanks, I thought it might. I do only cut one pill at a time, but I still worry that the four days between cutting and using the last part is too long. I'm going to have to get an air-tight pill box or something to put them in.

yes, you are.

actually---i think a regular prescription bottle (probably the one your proscar came in) is just fine
i took the dessicant packet (the little clear plastic cylindrical thing) from my propecia pack and stuck it in a bottle with the split proscar pills
