Jambri,
Generally speaking, donor taken from the scalp will bear the same texture and characteristics when it re-grows in the scalp. In the beginning growth, the new hair usually comes in "thinner" in caliper (thickness of hair shaft) but will fatten with time as it grows in length. This can take up to one year or so to occur.
Also, sometimes the new terminal hair grows in somewhat "kinky" at first but will eventually straighten out as length progresses for most people.
Possibly you have heard of BHTs planted in the scalp that have very different characteristics than scalp donor once the BH grows in. Most patients consider BHs only as a last donor resort or for repair work like filling in scars. Some even consider BHs to help fill in the crown area which is considered a less visual impact area than the front forelock area.
