Temples less dense, but no miniaturization?

My temples are a lot dense than the rest of my head, but the hairs are just as long and thick as everywhere else. The right side seems worse than my left though...Whenever I comb or brush my hair back I can almost see the individual hairs even though I have really thick hair. It's the only area on my head where I can see my scalp if I move my hair. But I can remember my temples being like this even when I was 12. I'm almost 19 now and I don't think they've really changed...I'd post pictures but my hair has a really weird texture and my hair always "clumps" together so it's kinda hard to see what I'm talking about.

My mom's side of the family has some serious baldness and thinning problems. Their hair is so light and blows in the wind so easily, almost like it's hollow...Mom's dad is a NW7, his dad was an NW7, and my mom's brother is an NW6 heading to NW7 and he's barely over 50. (Lucky me.) But my hair is nothing like my mom's side, it's the complete opposite, exactly like my dad's. I don't think there's any bald people on dad's side and he still has a NW2 @ 55.

So should I still be worried if my temples are only ~40% as dense as the rest of my head, even though there's no signs of miniaturization? Is it ever normal to have thinner temples? My crown is normal, no thinning at all but I'm only 18 and still a NW1.
