Telogen Effluvium Diagnosis

OK, so I finally saw a derm that specializes in hair and I told her about my chronic shedding. She had run her hands through my hair and pulled out a good amount of shed hairs. Then asked how long this has been going on for, since March. So I explained how in early february I had fainted twice and hit my head twice and got a concussion and had to be stiched up. She thinks that this triggered my Telogen Effluvium and it should decreased in the next two months. Does this make sense, will I grow back my shed hairs or most?

Any idea, thoughts, advice.

My sister had the same thing from a serious survery about 1 and a half ago and she shed and now had 3 and 4 inch hairs mixed in all over. I just think it so weird that all of the sudden I'll have hair filling in my head just like that.

start on procerin right away!

Procerin, Are you mad?

It is true that Telogen Effluvium can be triggered by some kind of trauma that happens on the body. This kind of trauma can also trigger ofther things as well. But from what you said it seems it was the trauma that did it. There is no way to tell when the Telogen Effluvium will stop.

It's down to how well your body has coped with the trauma.

This kind of trauma is what happened to Pierluigi Collina - the best football ref in the world. He banged his head falling out of a tree or something, and a month later all the hair in his head had fallen out. Don't want to shock you or anything, but this trauma stuff is not a myth.

Nope - that guy is seriously bald. Do a Google and you'll see what I mean. I've got a lot of respect for him. He picked up an award for his refereeing at a Fifa ceremony, whereapon some judge made some ill advised sh*t joke about 'Collina hair cream' so he trashed the award in his dressing room out of solidarity for all those who share his condition.
