Sorry for the long post in advance haha,
Hello guys, I just wanted to say i’ll finally be getting a hair system this week! But before I do, i just want to get every single question from past or present to be cleared from my mind as this is a very big step for me. I’ll be ordering an all black french lace from Northwest Lace & am planning to do tape all around. Here are my questions:
1: A lot of people are saying to to go the salon for some time before you transfer to DIY. Does this mean that I would have to go into the salon every 2 weeks for a touch up? Idk if that’s the best option for me financially.

2. I saw from a post where it said it’s pretty common to see that people leave their natural hairline & put the piece on top of the hairline or a few centimeters above. Can anyone elaborate on what they’re talking about & how it is done?

3. If there is a lift with a covered hairline, does it need to be put back in place?

4. Does a french lace (high density) feel undetectable to touch? or can you feel something there?

5. How does hair system hair usually lay naturally? without any product. Does it just come straight down like a brushed forward look? (stupid question i know haha)

6. Do i have to spray anything on my head to remove the piece? I heard alcohol, but wouldn’t that damage the hair?

7. I know sweating takes a toll on the adhesive, but does it take a toll on the piece itself?

8. Can you go to a normal barber & ask for a fade if you tell them to leave the top alone (where the hair piece begins)?

9. I’ve attached a picture of a hairstyle i was going for & was wondering if it was achievable? Maybe a tad bit shorter idk.

10. It isn’t possible for it to slip off or anything? Not even with an oily scalp sweating?

11. If i were to exercise 3-4 times a week (oily scalp) , how often would i need to detach/reattach?

I think that’s everything lol sorry again for the long post & dumb questions i’m just super anxious Thank you to anyone who took the time to ready essay lol. Bless up everyone!

No, you can learn to remove, wash and re-attach yourself.

2. I saw from a post where it said it’s pretty common to see that people leave their natural hairline & put the piece on top of the hairline or a few centimeters above. Can anyone elaborate on what they’re talking about & how it is done?

ONLY if you have a really STRONG hairline, otherwise it's not worth it.

3. If there is a lift with a covered hairline, does it need to be put back in place?

Depends on how much. A tiny bit, no. Something the wind can uncover, yes. With tape, probably will NOT be an issue.

4. Does a french lace (high density) feel undetectable to touch? or can you feel something there?

I think all bases if touched directly, do NOT feel like scalp.

5. How does hair system hair usually lay naturally? without any product. Does it just come straight down like a brushed forward look? (stupid question i know haha)

Depends on the venting (direction of the hair) you order.

6. Do i have to spray anything on my head to remove the piece? I heard alcohol, but wouldn’t that damage the hair?

You spray alcohol, on a cloth, and run along the edge which you want to remove first. When it's time to come off, it will come off without a HUGE amount of effort.

7. I know sweating takes a toll on the adhesive, but does it take a toll on the piece itself?

No, not really.

8. Can you go to a normal barber & ask for a fade if you tell them to leave the top alone (where the hair piece begins)?

Depends on the barber. I had an amazing, bald fade done in Madrid by a barber who never worked on a system before. You show them the edge, and they hold a comb on it, so they don't touch it.

9. I’ve attached a picture of a hairstyle i was going for & was wondering if it was achievable? Maybe a tad bit shorter idk.

WOW!!! Sexy haircut. Why not? You need some density and texture, and an EXCELLENT stylist to achieve it. You mean that's not you? Pity. LOL

10. It isn’t possible for it to slip off or anything? Not even with an oily scalp sweating?

A bad attachment can slip, happened to me, learning pains.

11. If i were to exercise 3-4 times a week (oily scalp) , how often would i need to detach/reattach?

All depends on your body chemistry vis a vis the bond.

I know how you feel... even though I was not trying to transition to a system, to hide going bald, and went from FULL BLD TO FULL HAIR... at a later age than you are, there were (and are) anxieties. Will I look OK, will people notice. It's natural.

Just today, I had to tell someone that I am VERY interested in.. how it was possible that I grew so much hair in just a few weeks. He flew in for Eurovision and decided to meet me at the barber who does my cut-ins. Well... there I am, sitting in the chair, my "hair" in a ponytail... (he saw me last month with a French Crop that was maybe 3" at the most.

I tried to explain, he didn't get him... then I showed him a photo... then he got it.

Once he understood, he made a HUGE smile... and that was it. I still got my kiss!!

So you look like Zayn Malik? Wow... lucky for you... you single? :)

Good luck...
