Found this on a thread at another hair loss forum. Wondering what y'all think of it...does this make any sense or do you think this guy is full of it..
Zix Creator said:have never tried Revivogen however I have run a website for 8-9 years related to the zix formulas. In the process I have talked to a lot of people via e-mail. I also scan both this message board and hairlosshelp.
Initially I was very excited about Revivogen. It seemd to have so many ingredients that would be helpful for the balding person. Unfortunately it has been out a long time and I have read very very few success stories.
I personally feel Revivogen is a product that was thrown together not to really grow back hair but to entice people to buy it. Seems to me if you want to sell a lot of something to do with hair loss then you should jam as many good ingredients and back it up with some decent studies on each of the substances. No matter whether these ingredients have an antagonistic effect on one another.
So yes I would send the Revivogen back in my humble opinion.
Here's three things that I know you can put together in one topical solution....minoxidil....saw palmetto....beta sitosterol. These are fundementally the active ingredients in the product known as scalpmed. Though the product has not been on the market long I have gotten more positive feedback from this product than I ever did in all years Revivogen has been on the market.
The problem with scalpmed is that it is very expensive. I was working on a homemade version that would cost next to nothing but I fell short because I could not locate a supplier for the beta sitosterol. I would have to buy an enormous quantity from China and thus far I have been unwilling to spend the money for this. The beta sitosterol capsules contain magnesium stearate as a filler and I have good reason to believe this would ruin the minoxidil if added to it.
In the meantime, using my 20 year old son as a guinea pig, I started him on 5% minoxidil mixed with 10 mls of liquid saw palmetto. (Saw Palmetto does contain beta sitosterol just not very much), His results after 5 months have been very encouraging. He was suffering from frontal thinning and a receeding hair line. Now his hair line has virtually returned to normal and his hair is also much thicker.
Since minoxidil works poorly for frontal hair loss I have to conclude that the topical saw palmetto has had either an additive effect or even a synergistic effect.
Anyway...for what it's worth those are my thoughts on Revivogen.
non SLS/SLES dht fighting shampoo? I don't understand.
