Hey guys, just wondering if you guys could help me out with a few questions regarding changing my regimen.
I've been on finasteride for 3 months, prescription proxiphen for 3 months, Xandrox 15 & 5, and nano and nizoral for about the same time. I was previously on regular minoxidil 4 months before this new regimen. Anyways i want to switch to dutasteride because i think i will have way better results with it and faster. I just want to know in the long run will it make a difference if i start dutasteride now or wait a few years after i've been on finasteride first. WIll i be burning my chances later of another option if i start dutasteride now or will my hair end up better in the long run if i start dutasteride now? Also i know some people are scared of the long term side effects dutasteride may cause like alzheimers disease and so on but i read in an article that low testosterone can cause this disease and dutasteride increases testosterone a bit. What do you guys think?

Also i was wondering if i should switch from Prescription proxiphen to Fluridil instead? What do you guys think will be a better choice. Im getting some good results in my hairline and from peachfuzz im growing back near terminal hair and it keeps getting slowly better and i want to continue this. If the rest of my hair was thick i would stay on this regimen but when its wet and combed back it sucks cause its diffuse a bit and i want some nice thickening. When my hair is dry and combed forward or even back you cant tell but when wet you can see some thinning. I just want to keep my hair and thicken it for at least 10 years and more and by the time 2015 hits i know HM will be available. Will dutasteride do the job untill then?

Anyways if you guys could help me out on this one that would be great.

Thx

Dude, you need some consistancy in you regimen - The way you're switching back and forth is not doing you any favours....At all.
Should you switch to dutasteride? IMO, no - stick with your regimen for a year (you already know this) and see what happens - who knows, you might be an excellent responder and grow a crapload of hair from this - you have not given your regimen time enough to wait it out. Also the idea is to steadly add to your regimen as time goes by - in order to keep up your results. You are using everything at one go - making it impossible to fall back on anything when you current treatments start to slip.

Should you switch from Proxiphen to Fluridil? No (again) give it a year and see what happens - you keep starting over and over again when you start a new treatment. I'm using Proxiphen as well and I don't know how good this stuff is yet, but I personally don't think Fluridil is better (there has been A LOT of hype on it lately on this site - causing every one to believe it's the sh*t (Not saying it's not just that it's the hype of this year so far). late last year it was the laser comb. My point is, don't listen to current trends - but add consistency instead of new products.

BTW: You're only using Proxiphen on the hairline? How long does a vial last you? Do you think your growth on the hairline is from Zandrox or Proxiphen?

Thanks Stax.

Hey, actually i never really switched my regimen only added to it or improved it. Here the breakdown.

About 7 months ago i was started using 5% rogaine on my hairline only and continued this for 4 months. I started to see the receeded peachfuzz turning dark like my regular hair colour. But then i noticed when my hair was wet it looked diffuse and also i wanted the fastest and strongest results and wanted to add to my regimen. So after 4 months of this i switched from rogaine to Dr.Lee's Xandrox 15 and Xandrox 5, and 5% spironolactone. I started using the Xandrox all over the top of my head and the spironolactone on my hairline only for about 1 month. Then on this site somebody metioned Prescription proxiphen to me and i researched it and decided to drop the spironolactone for Proxiphen since it has spironolactone in it already and i started using it all over my scalp and it lasts me one month per vial. At this same time i started finasteride and Nano shampoo and conditioner. Now when my hair is dry or wet you can see the darker shade and outline of a norwood 1 or less hairline. What do i think caused the regrowth to this point? Definetly the Xandrox 15. Soon after i started i kept noticing better regrowth and in 4 months from now im waiting for that finasteride to really kick in and get a growth explosion hopefully. If i dont notice major improvements within 4 months then I will probabbly switch to dutasteride and mabye add fluridil.
