Switching From finasteride Daily To Eod / Mwf

Hi Guys,

Just asking a general question here.

So by 01/01/19 i'll have been on 1mg Finasteride every day for 1 year.

I've been lucky enough to not get any sides (that I know of) and my hair seems to have stabilised to a good amount.

So anyway, at the end of the December i'll be heading to South America for 1 year (travelling) and I was wondering if it would be risky to change my 1mg ED regimen to EOD/MWF just as it would be easier and cheaper for me.

I feel like my hair has stabilised and so would changing to EOD/MWF disrupt things? Or maybe even bring on sides?

Thanks,

Callum

What's the point of doing that? finasteride is dirt cheap and you shouldn't change a regimen that works. Just my 2 cents

Personally i'm not sure how accessible finasteride is to get in South America and I don't want to have to carry around 365 tablets among other things.

Also I think it will be cheaper in the long run as it will effectively half my costs in the future.

You can literally order 1 year of finasteride for like 50 bucks. Don't be stingy lmao. It's hair
And to answer your question changing a regimen can be negative

You're right I am being stingy :D . But the problem is I live in the UK so finasteride is limited (most places only sell 1mg finasteride and for £65 for 168 tablets max).

Also sometimes, depending on the generic brand you receive, you can get a nice little box with tablets or a big bulky box of tablets. So that can also be unpredictable.

When I spent 6 months overseas I just bought half a year's worth of tablets and put them in one of those vitamins containers. Really easy to bring with you

By opening them all and putting them inside a container like this?

I always wondered if tablets lost their effectiveness after being removed from the packaging.

Ive been on 0.5mg Ed for like 5 months and now 0.5mg EOD and I think i am maintaining. I know people who do 1mg every 3rd day and he has been maintaining for 8 years.

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been on EOD?

For a month only but with my hairloss its easy to track how agressive it is because for me it directly relates to how much I lose in the shower. So first I tried 0.25mg EOD and that did not work too well. Originally I was always on 0.5mg ED before making this switch. I switched from 0.25mg EOD to 0.5mg EOD and have seen maintenance.
