I'd like a lot of participation on this one if possible: For those of you who work out or are athletes and have been on what Bruce calls "the juice" (propecia) for a while, how is it affecting your workouts, muscle mass, stamina? I make my living as an athlete/performer and I've been on generic Propecia for a month now. Lots of zits, some bad shedding, some fatigue, but I'm really worried about getting weak. Moods are up and down, but I'm like that anyway. I'd really like a broad survey if you guys don't mind!

I never really considered mood swings on proscar, though I guess that's possible. Like you, I'm up and down a lot, so it would be hard to say.
As far as muscle gain, I've noticed a substatial gain in muscle since starting proscar. That's interesting since I'm not a weightlifter. I do excercise, but most of it's cardiovascular like basketball, soccer, or bike riding. It seems the extra testosterone is helping me grown bigger muscles.

Athlete as well and feel like Ive gained fat as a result.

Hard to tell if its affected my mood or cardio. So many other possible factors (sleep, stress, excessive training, etc.). Weight is easier to gauge cause less factors involved.

I have lost about 10 lbs since I dropped propecia. Go figure!

Well here's a link to an article that suggest propecia will help you lose some weight .... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/quer ... t=Abstract
As for me personally, I didn't notice any mood swings or any gain or loss of fat or muscle while on propecia. As for acne, I actually had an elimination of it for the first time in a long time(years) that I could remember. It was all over my back too(eww!). This was a nice side effect for me and it is suggested in some literature that finasteride might have some potential for reducing acne. But you must remember, propecia or not, everybody is always either gaining or losing weight! Sometimes we are fatter, other times leaner.
