Sudden Hair Loss, Telogen Effluvium?

So I researched Telogen effluvium. Now I fit into almost all the symptoms there. Severe change in diet (pretty much just alcohol which I quit a week ago) lots of stress and shock of quitting smoking weed and alcohol 2 weeks ago to which I woke up seeing shadows.

Either way. This seems unusual to me. I shaved a big portion of my head today and saw balding everywhere to my shock. I mean I knew my hair was unusually getting thinner rapidly over past few months.

Am I just going bald or what? I have yet to see a physician.

Also I heard one test to determine this is pulling hair and seeing if it comes off easy. Well I can grab lots of hair off my head pretty easy... I know such a symptom is reversible but male pattern baldness isnt. So I don't know. I mean I'm sure I'd look good bald but I still prefer having hair.

Doesn’t matter... hair pull test is positive for male pattern baldness as well

But how is it possible for this to happen so rapidly? Also by pull test I mean. I can pull 10 hairs and 8 come off

Aggressive diffuse thinning male pattern baldness. It will shorten the anagen phase of your hair and make it so more are in telogen... that’s why diffuse thinners get a shed. If your shedding is due to male pattern baldness you really don’t have much time. Sounds aggressive.

I’m not saying that it’s impossible that it’s telogen effluvium, it’s just unlikely. Male hairloss is usually male pattern baldness.

But why are my sides having some balding too? It's not just the crown.

If your sides are thinning too it could be retrograde male pattern baldness or telogen effluvium.

I’d still guess retrograde... I have retrograde and my sides are the thinnest part of my head

get some bloodwork done and if the results are positive its probably male pattern baldness

I don't currently have a health care card in canada. So tomorrow I'm buying generic rogain. I heard even in case of bad diet or telogen ir can be used temporarily to get the cycle back. So that plus I'm eating a diet that's high in iron/protein.

As I said the past several months I have been drinking heavily and always on an empty stomach with a diet consisting of nothing but pizza and junk. So 0 nutrients, and very very low iron.

This is exactly what is happening to me. The anagen phase of my hairs are probably 3 days long now.

Careful listening to people on here mate- I'm straight up saying I'm no doctor or specialist but that looks like Alopecia Areata to me.
I think you need to see a dermatologist no matter what.
In the meantime do what you can to help your body if you have quit the booze. Good diet, exercise (good blood flow helps the follicles get the nutrients they need). This will help
