Just wondered if many get any maintain or regrowth from 5% foam for front of head, My crown has gone pretty much so don't expect anything much from it, short of hair transplant, but for the front and top, can it regrow?

i grew and still growing hairs on my hairline

Do you think that's a rare occurrence?

Because people don't tend to talk much about putting the foam all over the top and front of the head, but do many foam up the crown and then the top and front to hairline, and get good results?

I'm 5 weeks into the big 3 and am seeing temple regrowth. It IS possible, rub your temples every time you apply rogaine to increase blood flow to the area, make sure you apply 2x a day, hell im even getting fine hairs where my original hairline use to be but thats 1.5 inches away so I have to wax that ****. JUST DO IT

The front and top definitely can grow hair with minoxidil, depending on how long it was gone. But just keep the following in mind. The temples are usually the HARDEST part to grow back. This is even true with finasteride (although finasteride has a better track record than minoxidil).

Usually the front middle has the best results. And if you treat it early enough, you can grow back the temples as well. The center is usually just as receptive to minoxidil as the top (it is surprising that you have the opposite issue, because usually with min it's the opposite problem. Good for diffuse hair (with dropper/or foam), not as good in the front.

The only reason they don't say the front is it wasn't tested there. Also it's much easier to measure the vertex, which has hair around it, than the front.

Thanks guys, The crown went a long time ago, but the diffuse all over top, plus hairline is a couple of years ago when it was passable.. Is that going to make a comeback?

I keep reading so many stories of people on here that say minoxidil made them lose the hair line and it's never come back. Is that just because it was going anyway do you think?

I am also reading that. I'm not too sure to be honest. I have yet to be on treatment for 2 months and it's too early to tell. I am having hairs fall out but they have more or less always done that. Seeing regroth is telling me that minoxidil IS working. The only problem is that there is small space inbetween new hairs so I hope it fills in more.

Been using Kirkland foam on the temples and front hairline once a day for a little over 4 months. a can lasts for about 1.7 months. there are a lot of new terminal hairs in the temple on left temple filling it up quite a bit. The right temple seems less enthusiastic, but i see some fuzz starting which i hope will turn terminal too. I think the right side balded some time before the left one which would maybe explain the struggle. On the hairline itself i noticed thinning hairs going normal again...

i have been using Kirkland liquid for some time before on the crown though. I have no idea if it works as i cant see the back of my head too well

As for sides, i now have chest hair and a lot of facial hair. even some started growing on my ears. But its not much of a problem to shave it off, just watch out for the unibrow...
when i started minoxidil i had a shed lasting for about a month...

JK, keep us posted, good luck,

Do you both use once or twice a day? Is the shed really noticeable or is it just like the usual fall?

I've had much better success on the temples than my vertex and crown, but I don't use minoxidil by itself. In fact by itself it did nothing for me, I got shedding around the vertex area and back of the head but nothing in terms of regrowth and just minor thickening.

Check out my thread in the success stories, as a background I'm 39 and growing hair in my temple region that was not there 10 years ago. I think your chances of success are greatly improved if you have vellus hairs on your temples, I remember mine where around twice as long as the ones on my forehead.

So If I don't want to do Propecia, there's not much hope on growing vertex, mid scalp and frontal with minoxidil foam?

What's the percentage like of people on this using it for mid and frontal as well as crown, without using any Propecia>

Everyone responds differently, you might have better results with finasteride if minoxidil does not do anything but on the other hand you may not.

Minoxidil works for me on the hairline. But ever since it receded back into that V like shape I'm finding it difficult to get it to regrow no matter how many treatments I combine.

hairline/crown, but not many people mention it working on the mid and vertex, that's what I wondered on percentages
